Live Rig 1
Here are the leftovers from the old kit I used for live
performances:
- DigiTech Studio Quad: a four channel digital effects unit
- Zoom Studio 1204: a two channel digital
effects unit; it has a vocoder but is only used for vocal
distortion (can you believe that - I carry around this 1U effects box just
for the vocal distortion we use on 2 songs!)

Live Rig 2 & Portable Recording Rig
I put this kit together as part of my move to soft synths.
My goal was to reduce the number of wires and the total weight of gear I have to
carry around to performances. This was largely inspired by my knee injury
in 2003 and the pain I had lugging heavy pieces of gear up and down the stairs
at Rock Island in Denver.
- Sony MDR-7506 headphones, which I like a lot
- Guitar Center 4 space rack
- Juice Goose
- Echo Layla24
- Presonus Blue Tube microphone preamp and Samson Q-5
headphone amplifier
- Behringer patch bay
- several mike stands, keyboard stands, etc.
- two Ultimate keyboard stands: these are the kind
which just fold out and lock in place at a preset height
