Since leaving Broomfield on June 23, our Prius has performed admirably. We’ve driven about 4000 miles, and averaged 47.72 MPG. We haven’t had any mechanical problems at all, though the car is due for its second ever oil change, something that should be done every 10k miles.
As you can imagine, the fuel economy has been lower when the car is loaded down with our stuff, like traveling from Broomfield to KC. It’s been a few MPG higher doing day-to-day stuff in town, though we have been hardly driving at all in Missoula, preferring to walk or bus.
We’ve spent a total of $314.30 in fuel, which comes to roughly 8 cents per mile. The most we’ve paid for fuel was $4.50/gallon and the least was $3.26/gallon.
