Third Annual Day-After-Thanksgiving “Wing It” Movie Making Spectacular

I’m putting together a team to participate in the “Third Annual Day-After-Thanksgiving “Wing It” Movie Making Spectacular” which is on November 23, as you might guess. Here are the rules. If you’d like to help me out or would like to enter your own team, please let me know!

Welcome to the Third Annual Day-After-Thanksgiving “Wing It” Movie Making Spectacular. This year, we’re trying something a little different. It’s a fast film-making event with multiple teams. Each team will create a short film on the topic “The Last Time I Saw Santa Claus.” Genre, location, style, script, etc. are all up to you, so be creative! We’ll show all the films at a local film event in the near future, and put them on a DVD as a memento for everyone.

Here are the general rules:

1) The first line of dialog must start with “The last time I saw Santa Claus…” and the film must stay within that very general theme.

2) Each team may consist of 1 to 20 participants.

3) The edited film must be no longer than 120 seconds in length, not including credits. Opening credits must not exceed 10 seconds, and closing credits must not exceed 30 seconds.

4) You can do as much pre-production work as you want in advance, except for shooting footage. All original footage must be shot on the day after Thanksgiving. Stock footage and music may be used if you have rights to it.

5) Editing can be done until Wednesday December 5. By that deadline, each film needs to be turned in on either MiniDV tape or QuickTime file. The submissions will then be edited into one single video, comprised of the submitted videos in random order.

6) The completed video will be screened on Tuesday December 11 at the monthly Group 101 screening.
